TYPICAL SPORTS OF THE REGION:

The true Valencia sports are little known outside the region. The most typical are Tiro y Arrastre (tug of war) and the Carreras de Joies (Horse-racing), widely practised among the farm workers, but the most important is undoubtedly La Pelota Valenciana, which is played -in its three varieties, i'e, "llargues", "raspall" or "galotxa"- in a court or in the streets of the villages.
