Sports in Salamanca

Hunting and fishing figure prominently among the sporting activities to be enjoyed in this province. For information on areas set aside for these activities and the relevant permits required, kindly contact the Regional Environmental Authority.

There is an wide range of options for all manner of mountaineering, but space restrictions limit our recommendations to: the Batuecas Valley, ideal for hiking; and the Llano de la Covatilla, a place for skiers and ramblers.
Watersports and sailing enthusiasts should head for the La Almendra Dam. Golfers can either play at the Zaparicos Golf Course, situated in the town of the same name. El Matacán aerodrome, is the local base for all flying and aerial sports.
